On 27 Jan 2025, I booked an Uber from IGI Terminal 3 to Gurgaon. The fare was initially shown as ₹564, but by the time I completed the booking, it increased to ₹663. I understand surge pricing. While waiting at the baggage collection, I called up the driver to inform him about the delay and requested that he not cancel the booking. However, he canceled it shortly after. Since I did not cancel, why was I forcibly charged a cancellation fee of ₹56?
I then booked another cab and this time it showed a fare of ₹775 (Rs 200 more than the original fare). This means I ended up paying ₹831
(775 +56) for a trip that started at ₹564.
My requests are:
Since I did not cancel, I should not have forced to pay the ₹56 fee.
My subsequent booking should reflect the original fare of ₹663, not ₹775.
Given this, I request a refund of ₹167 (₹775 – ₹663 + ₹56). Please consider amending your policies, as such practices cause discomfort for riders, especially senior citizens.
