I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding an ongoing issue with the electricity meter for my account (Account Number: 4607587541, Account Holder Name: Shail Kumari).
Initially, the meter was functioning correctly, but suddenly, it showed a reading amounting to ₹14,000 for just one month’s usage. This was a drastic increase, as previous readings were only around ₹300-400 per month. After visiting the local electricity department, the employee and Junior Engineer (JE) assured us that the issue would be addressed. However, no resolution was provided.
Over the next 2-3 months, the amount continued to grow rapidly, reaching approximately ₹18,000. Despite multiple requests, no corrective action was taken, and we were only offered an instalment plan to settle this amount.
Subsequently, a new problem arose when the meter started displaying 58 kW, whereas the actual usage was only 1 kW. Despite filing several complaints, the problem has not been fixed to date.
We have repeatedly submitted request letters, but no action has been taken. Recently, we were informed that a new Android-based electric meter was installed, but this has only resulted in further issues, and we continue to suffer from incorrect readings.
I request your immediate intervention to resolve this issue, fix the meter, and relieve us of this ongoing problem. I hope to see prompt action on this matter.
