How to File a Complaint of Lakshadweep Electricity Department?

The Lakshadweep Electricity Department has dedicated customer care numbers and electricity helplines for registering complaints related to power outages and other technical/billing issues. To file a complaint about the Electricity Board of Lakshadweep, follow the instructions below:

If your submitted complaint is not resolved within 7 working days at Level 1, you can escalate it to the Nodal Officer (Senior Executive Engineer) at the Electricity Department’s Headquarters in Lakshadweep.

To do this, you can either write a letter or send an email. Make sure to include:

  • Reference ID of your previous complaint
  • Copies of any supporting documents you have

Level 3: Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum – CGRF, Lakshadweep

If your complaint remains unresolved after the allotted time at Level 2, you can escalate your disputed matter by filing a complaint with the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) of the Lakshadweep Electricity Department.

Here’s what you need for your complaint letter:

  • Reference Number: Include the reference number from your previous complaint with the Electricity Department.
  • Nature of Relief: Clearly explain what you are seeking from the Electricity Department. Be specific about your concern.
  • Personal Details: Provide your personal information, connection number, and details from your bill, especially if your complaint relates to billing issues.
  • Declaration Form: Include a signed declaration form confirming that your complaint is genuine and accurate.
  • Documents: Attach copies of any relevant documents or bills that support your complaint to validate your concern.
  • Deadline: Make sure to submit your grievance within 30 days after the resolution period expires or after receiving the final decision from the Electricity Department in Lakshadweep, whichever comes first.

Acknowledgement Receipt: Once you submit your complaint to CGRF, ask for an acknowledgement receipt to confirm that your complaint has been successfully received by the Forum.

Not satisfied with the final order of CGRF?

If you are dissatisfied with the final order of the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) of Lakshadweep or the complaint remains unresolved despite escalating it to CGRF, you can appeal to the Electricity Ombudsman at the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERCUTS) for further resolution.
