The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is the statutory authority of the government of India. UIDAI was established under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits, and Services) Act, of 2016, also known as the Aadhaar Act of 2016. This body works under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity).

UIDAI’s main function is to issue a unique identification number (UID) to the citizens and residents of India for transparency in the distribution of government services. The responsibilities of the UIDAI are Aadhaar enrolment and authentication, issuing Aadhaar numbers, verifying the documents, keeping and securing the biometric data of the Aadhaar holder’s identification information, and other policies and functions as specified by the government.

File a Complaint to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)

UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has provided many options for the residents/citizen of India to get resolve their issues regarding the correction, updating, and enrolment for the new Aadhaar card (to get a new Unique identification number).

You can call the toll-free helpline numbers. People may e-mail or file an online complaint on the online grievance redressal portal of UIDAI. Further, if your complaint is not resolved then you have the option to approach the regional office or higher authority of your zone.

Register an Online Complaint

The grievance redressal mechanism has been set up by UIDAI to resolve issues in the services of Aadhaar cards. The problems can be queried, Aadhaar enrolment, updating, and correction in personal details, and other services.

The Residents can use the e-mail or online portal to register an online complaint about the above-listed and other issues with the Aadhaar card (UIN) services. Don’t forget to note down or keep the EID/URN/SRN numbers of the Aadhaar enrolment acknowledgement receipt or Aadhaar card.

Steps to File Online Complaint:

  • Or you may visit the CPGRAMS link to file an online grievance.
  • Enter the personal details (Enrollment ID and Time from the acknowledgement receipt).
  • Select the type of complaint and write your concern.
  • After filling out other details, submit the complaint form.
  • Don’t forget to note down the reference number to track the status.

If your complaint is not resolved within the given time or you are unsatisfied with the final response of the above helpline support, you may lodge a grievance with the Regional Office (RO).
