NBPDCL is registered under the Companies Act of 1956 as a public sector company that provides electricity distribution and services in the northern region of Bihar. It has many departments to resolve complaints about electricity issues (For example – Customer Care Center, Online Complaint Portal, CGRF, and Electricity Ombudsman).

NBPDCL is publicly owned by the State Government of Bihar. It distributes electricity in 21 districts of north Bihar. All rural and urban regions get electricity services from the NBPDCL. More than 5 crore people get benefitted from the electricity services of the NBPDCL. Because it is the only electricity distributor in the North Bihar region.

Register Online Complaint to NBPDCL

Do you want to register an online complaint about the electricity services of NBPDCL? You can register an online complaint on the portal of the NBPDCL against electricity issues by filling out the online complaint form. The procedure to lodge an online complaint is very easy.

Procedure:

Step 1:  Visit the link to fill out the online complaint form of NBPDCL: Register Online Complaint

Step 2: Fill out the following information in the Complaint Application form of NBPDCL:

  1. CA Number – Only for Urban/RAPDRP area customers, Enter your CA number from your bill.
  2. Consumer Number – If you belong to the Rural region of North Bihar, a non-RAPDRP area, provide the consumer number from your bill.
  3. Personal Details1. Complainant name – Enter your name, 2. Mobile Number, 3. Division – Select your division of NBPDCL, 4. Subdivision – Select your region, 5. Section – Select the substation of your division, 6. Address – Enter your complete address with the PIN code.

Step 3: Provide the following details of Electricity Complaints:

  1. Complaint Category – Select the category of your related issues; Bill, Meter, Miscellaneous, Supply.
  2. Complaint Sub Category – Select the sub-category of your issue (If available), If not select the others.
  3. Complaint Details – Provide a brief detail of the complaint about the electricity issues and drive links of the supportive documents, so they can be checked by the authority to resolve the issues ASAP.

Notice: Download the Bill Correction Form; take the printout; fill in the required details and attach the required documents and copy of the previous bills. Submit it to the nearest NBPDCL substation centre in your Region.

Step 4: Type the code that is shown in the image of your complaint form. Now, click on the ‘Submit” button that is given below in the form.

Step 5: Note down the complaint reference number (SR number) of NBPDCL. You will get it after the successful submission of the complaint. You can use it to track the status of your complaint.

Step 6: To check the status of your complaint follow the steps:

  • Now enter ‘Complaint/SR Number‘ and type the captcha code from the image.
  • Click on the ‘Submit‘ button and check the status of your complaint or application.

Step 7: If your complaint of electricity issues is not resolved by the NBPDCL and its licensee within the given time or not satisfied with the redressal of the complaint.

Electricity Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF), Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) for NBPDC takes the electricity issues/complaints that are not redressed by the NBPDCL or its licensee or customer is unsatisfied with the final decision of the concerned department. CGRF works under the Electricity (Regulatory) Act, 2003. Any customer of NBPDCL or SBPDCL can lodge a grievance against their licensee.

  • Latest Electricity Bill Copy
  • Complaint Reference Number/SR Number of Previous Complaint to NBPDCL
  • Proof of Connection, Identity Proof (Aadhar Card, PAN card or Voter Card (Only One))

Note – Complaint must be submitted within 30 days of receiving the final decision of the NBPDCL or its Licensee or the issue has been not resolved within the given time (After the expiry of the resolution period).

Step 4: You can contact the Electricity CGRF Forum NBPDCL of your circle, the addresses are given above section. After the successful submission of your Grievance, you should wait for 39 days. Also, take the reference number to know the status of your grievance.

Step 5: If your issue is not redressed within 39 days or unsatisfied with the final decision of the CGRF of your circle, NBPDCL, you can file a petition to the Electricity Ombudsman, Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC), Bihar against the decision or grievance of the CGRF of NBPDCL.

File Petition to Electricity Ombudsman, Bihar

The Electricity Ombudsman of Bihar is the apex authority under the Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) where you can file your last petition against CGRF, NBPDCL. Customers can file a petition against the final decision of the CGRF or the issue is not resolved within the given time.

Important Instructions:

  • The case will not be accepted if the final decision is given by any court or tribunal
  • The petition must be submitted within 30 days after the decision or expiry of the CGRF grievance Redressal Period
