Varanasi Nagar Nigam (नगर निगम वाराणसी), which is also known as Varanasi Municipal Corporation, is the urban local government body of Varanasi City (Banaras/Kashi) of Uttar Pradesh state. The Municipal Corporation was established on January 24, 1959, as Nagar Mahapalika under the Municipal Corporation Act of 1959.
