Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is a public utility agency of the Government of NCT of Delhi. DJB provides drinking water and sewage treatment services to the residents of Delhi. DJB was established in 1998 by an act of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, taking over the functions of the previous Delhi Water Supply and Sewage Disposal Undertaking.
The Board is responsible for producing and distributing potable water and pipelined water from various sources, such as river Yamuna, Bhakhra Storage, Upper Ganga Canal and groundwater.

DJB has divided the water supply services into 21 zones and 180 divisions. Each zone has a zonal revenue officer and a zonal engineer in charge of the water billing and supply respectively. The divisions are further subdivided into blocks and colonies, each having a junior engineer and a meter reader.

How to Register a Complaint to Delhi Jal Board?
According to the citizen charter of the Delhi Jal Board, the grievance redressal mechanism is divided into 3 levels. Customers can complain about ongoing issues related to water supply, new connections, and sewerage services in Delhi. If not resolved, you may escalate the grievance to the next authority.

Please note: As a consumer, you can file a consumer complaint to the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), Department of Consumer Affairs for violating consumer rights by the Delhi Jal Board.
Level 1: Customer Care, Delhi Jal Board (DJB)
At level 1, citizens can register any complaint related to water supply, billings, illegal borings, and sewer problems to the Delhi Jal Board. For this, call the toll-free customer care number of DJB Control Room, email/WhatsApp, or make a complaint online to DJB.

Level 2: Escalate to Zonal ACE, DJB
If your submitted complaints are not resolved at initial levels by the customer care or Zonal Regional Officer (ZRO) in your division of Delhi Jal Board, escalate the water complaint to the Zonal Assistant Chief Engineer of DJB.
While escalation, provide the following details:
- Reference/Acknowledgement number of the previous complaint
- Reason for dissatisfaction (if resolved)
- Expected relief
- Describe the issue with supporting documents.

If your complaints are still not resolved to your expectations, write to the Head Office of Delhi Jal Board. Further, you may lodge a public grievance to the Public Appellate Officer at the DJB Department of GNCTD.
Level 3: Public Appellate Authority, Delhi Jal Board Department of GNCTD
As per the public grievance policy of the government of NCT of Delhi, residents of Delhi can lodge a public grievance against the Delhi Jal Board to the appointed Public Grievance Appellate Officer.
So, if your complaints related to water services or administration are not resolved to your satisfaction or within the given timeframe, you can register a citizen complaint through the Public Grievance Monitoring System (PGMS) of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
