Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) is a state-owned agency under the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Government of Maharashtra. It was established in 1976 as the Maharashtra Water Supply and Sewerage Board (MWSSB) and renamed MJP in 1997. Its main responsibilities are supply of drinking water and management of sewerages, Operation and maintenance, management of solid and liquid waste, and helping the local bodies with the availability of water.

How to File a Water Complaint?
To resolve the complaints of water supply and sewerage, MJP has an organized administrative structure of Water Supply Station (WSS). The complaint resolution mechanism is divided into 3 major levels. These are:
- Level 1: Assistant Engineer, Sub-Divisional Water Works
- Level 2: Deputy Engineer, Divisional Office
- Level 3: Executive Engineer (EE), Regional Office (WSS)
If still not resolved, you can write to the Head Office of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran concerning the previous complaint.
For any water-related complaints in Mumbai City, complain to Brahanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and if you are in Navi Mumbai, lodge a water complaint to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).
Please note: For the violation of consumer rights, you can also file a consumer complaint against MJP to the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), Department of Consumer Affairs.

Procedure
Follow these steps to lodge your water grievance:
- Visit the MJP Website: Login/Register as a citizen to the official website (https://mjpwms.in/) of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran to access the online complaint submission portal.
- Fill in the Complaint Form: Provide necessary details such as your contact information, the nature of the complaint, the location of the issue, and any supporting documents if required.
- Submit Complaint: Once you have filled out the complaint form accurately, submit it through the online portal.
- Receive Confirmation: Upon successful submission, you will receive a confirmation of your complaint along with a reference ID for future correspondence.
- Follow-up: Keep track of the progress of your complaint by using the reference ID provided. MJP will address your concern and try to resolve it on time.
